The Joint Mission Committee of the Irish and Scottish RP Churches has called for a week of prayer for the RP Church in Nantes, France the 17th-23rd March. You can pick up a flyer with the prayer points in one of the RP churches, but they are also listed below.
“We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labour prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3
Sabbath: Pray for the Fellowship in Nantes
Pray for God to raise up men to take on positions of leadership in the coming months and years.
Pray that both local and international believers may be strengthened in their daily walk with the Lord.
Pray that unbelievers who are associated with the Fellowship will come to know the joys of salvation.
Pray for the proposed new premises, that new people would come in and join in the Fellowship.
Pray for unity in Christ among the Fellowship and pray that the Christians may know God’s Grace through the preaching of God’s Word.
Monday: Pray for Malcolm and Muriel Ball
Give thanks for more than 30 years of faithful service by Malcolm and Muriel.
Pray for them as they retire, as they relocate and adjust to a new chapter in their lives.
Pray that all the practical details will work out smoothly.
Tuesday: Pray for Andrew and Heather Lytle
Pray for them in their daily walk with God.
Pray for them as they nurture Matthieu and as they bring him up in the ways of Christ.
Pray for Andrew and Heather as they adjust to the new circumstances. Pray for them as they take on full responsibility for the work.
Pray for Andrew as he studies and prepares for the preaching of God’s Word.
Pray for Andrew’s work both in the Fellowship and with the students at the University.
Pray for the ministry of the One-to-One Bible Studies.
Give thanks for the opportunity of work among the prostitutes and pray for those caught up in human trafficking. Pray for Heather as she is involved in this work and for safety in this difficult ministry.
Wednesday – Pray for Matthieu Lytle
Pray that God will work in Matthieu’s life, and that he will come to know Christ as his Saviour while he is young.
Give thanks that Matthieu has settled into school and is enjoying his P2 year.
He has made some very good friends at school. Pray for these friends that they will come to know Christ as their Saviour.
Pray for Matthieu as he enjoys being with the other children in the Fellowship.
Pray that God will work in the hearts of all the Fellowship children, and that they will come to saving faith in Christ.
Thursday – Pray for the Church Premises
Give thanks for many years of witness in the present church premises.
Give thanks for the many people who have heard the gospel preached in the church premises.
Pray for the ongoing preaching of God’s Word.
Pray that the seed which has been sown may bring forth a good harvest.
Pray for guidance and direction regarding new premises and for the changes this will bring about.
Friday – Pray for the French Nation
Pray that God will work in the midst of the deep rooted discontentment and unrest of the French nation as there have been mobs in the streets during the past year.
Pray that God would soften the hard, rebellious, hostile hearts of people in France but especially those in the city of Nantes.
Pray for the obvious lack of respect for authority, the government, and for God.
Pray for the French government as they cope with and react to the rebelliousness.
Pray for Christians who live with these difficult conditions, especially those living in Nantes.
Saturday – Pray for the Mission Committee
Pray that the committee will know God’s leading in supporting the Mission Team in Nantes.
Pray that they will keep the RP Church well informed and enthused about the work in France.
Join the committee in giving thanks for the prayerful and financial support for Nantes.
Pray that Christ’s Great Commission will be carried out in France.
