Airdrie Mission Team

From mid-June to the beginning of July was a busy time for the Airdrie congregation as we had the American Mission Team, the Kids Club…

The May edition of Good News, the magazine of the RPCS, is now available to download.
Dr. Tim Donachie continues to write on contemporary topics. As you will read in the news section, Tim is transferring from our Presbytery to join a Presbytery in the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Ireland where he lives. I have really appreciated Tim’s thoughtful articles. Often, by necessity, I have sprung vast topics on him only for him to crystallise them into beneficial pieces. I know that Tim will continue to help us out, and just as he will always be welcome in Scotland, so too he will always be welcome on the pages of Good News.
Thanks is due to Bill Matthess for completing our doctrinal study of the marks of the church. As introduced in the last issue, the RP Global Alliance takes up a slot with an important theme of unity. We’re thankful that David McCullough has written an article on J.P. Struthers, probably the most famous of RPCS ministers. I read The Life and Letters of J.P. Struthers at the end of last year and I found myself smiling at the same things in the article as I did when I read the book.
We have two interviews this time: one in our vocation series about work on the factory floor and the other by Marcelo Sánchez, RP minister in Chile. It was fascinating to chat to Marcelo over Zoom about his situation there and his hopes for the future. Although I had never met him before I found that our Saviour and our theology has bound us close together.
