Update from The Gambia
Rev. Sylvester Konteh, minister of Grace Reformed Church, is under care of the Scottish Presbytery.  Here is a report about his recent work.

Evangelism

Recently Grace Reformed Church embarked on house to house evangelism, specifically targeting  the families of children in our school, who have benefited from our scholarship scheme, yet were not attending church. Most of the families responded positively and started sending their children to our church with some of the parents also accompanying them.

Additionally evangelism has taken place through meetings with family heads. I have told them to come to visit at any time of the week so we can discuss the Gospel and reformation.

Our Vision

We have a vision for Brikama Nyambai and the surrounding area, based upon Acts 16:9, “come over and help.” We want to see many people reached with the Gospel of Christ, who will in turn worship and serve Him. We have a vision to see the reformed faith fully embraced and established in Brikama and new churches planted in the Gambia. For this reason we are praying and practically working towards seeing individuals and families to move into the area. Under the Lord’s blessing, we desire for the church to be more fully established and to endure for generations to come.  

Some of our members have recently invited family members, living at a distance, to attend church. As a result, some have indeed opted to move into the area, for the purpose of attending our church. They have stated that they love the Biblical doctrines that we preach, and would love their friends and families to be part of a Reformed Church. Some of those who joined with us had even stopped attending church for almost two years, as a result of the excesses in the charismatic churches they had previously been attending.

We have found accommodation for three families who relocated to Brikama specifically for the purpose of attending our church. More families are on the verge of relocating to Brikama. We are looking for jobs in the area for those who have relocated and are seeking to relocate.

Prayer

Pray for the work in Brikama, that the Word of the Lord will have a free course.

Pray for funders to support our church and manse building project.

Pray for additional men to apply for the ministry, so that we can plant churches and establish a presbytery.
