Senior Camp 2023

The Irish RP Senior Camp took place the 1st-8th July. There were 104 campers there including 5 from the Scottish RP Church. Rev. Nigel Agnew spoke on reading the whole Bible in light of Jesus. We asked the young people from Scotland about their experiences, and here is what some of them had to say.

What was something you learned or that really made an impression on you from the talks?

Archie (Glasgow RP) – How stories I had never connected Christ to in the Bible, do in fact have connotations to Jesus.
Matteo (Glasgow RP) – Personally I found it very interesting, as Nigel showed, even in the unlikeliest places and people in the Bible, there are allusions to and foreshadows of Jesus. It helped me seeing just how perfectly put together God’s Word is put together, as well as how much there is to be found!

Grant (Glasgow RP) – The theme for Senior Camp was ‘Seeing the whole Bible through the light of Christ’. The talks changed my perspective on a large part of the Old Testament as they completely change how you interpret what you read.

What was your favourite activity?

Rebbekkah (North Edinburgh) – Messy Games
Archie – Waterpark.
Matteo – The messy games were good this year too. It was fantastic sliding around on the huge tarp afterwards! The concert and photo competition were also great.
Hannah (North Edinburgh – I can’t decide on a favourite activity between messy games, team challenges at jungle NI, and helping referee the tag rugby in the competitive sport.
Grant – My favourite activities at camp included messy games and competitive sports as they are a good way to get to know people who I hadn’t met before and they were very fun to take part in!

What was your favourite thing about camp?

Rebbekkah – Making nachos.
Archie – Speaking about the Bible with fellow minded young people and the activities.
Matteo – The times of worship we had, at many different sorts of times. They were very strengthening.
Hannah – I think my favourite thing about camp is probably getting to spend the week with people who I got close to and making new friends as well as testing certain limits.( I had a broken foot this year.)
Grant – I enjoy the mix at camp between spiritual teaching and fun activities.
