We've started a new series this week in our Let's Worship God booklets. What are these booklets? They have a Bible reading passage, notes written…
Presbytery met on the 14th June. In addition to the regular items of business that were dealt with in the afternoon, there was a special portion of the meeting that was held in the evening to which everyone from the RP congregations in Scotland were encouraged to attend. Rev. Peter Loughridge gave a report on the work of Presbytery throughout the past year highlighting things like the meetings of the Young Adults, the work of the RP Global Alliance, the regular Presbytery visitations to congregations which this year took place in North Edinburgh, the call of Ian Gillies to America, and the plan to hold monthly services in Wishaw. Rev. Noah Bailey then brought greetings from the American RP Church, and Rev. James Blair brought greetings from the Irish RP Church. A common theme throughout the evening was the need of men for ministry in all RP denominations. Rev. Stephen Steele then preached on Luke 5:1-11 and the how and why of evangelism, challenging us to see the need for the Gospel all around us as an opportunity rather than a reason for discouragement. After the meeting there was time to fellowship over the gracious hospitality provided by the Glasgow congregation. You can watch the recording from the meeting below.
