February Good News
The February edition of Good News is now available to download.

Back in October King Charles met with the Pope and prayed with him. The King was accompanied by the Queen, the Archbishop of York, and the Moderator of the Church of Scotland. Our Presbytery has expressed its strong disapproval. It strikes at the last vestiges of the nominal Protestantism that is left in the country. Tim Donachie addresses the wider issue of the King’s title of defender of the faith. Tying in with that theme, we have reprinted an extract from a Protestant Catechism – a workbook for Bible classes – by Rev. John McDonald, a former Airdrie minister.
In our last edition, Rev. Nick Jones, the newest Reformed Presbyterian minister in Ireland, wrote about how he came to believe in exclusive psalmody. In this edition, he has written again about how he came to believe in unaccompanied praise. The way we worship God is important and it is good for us to refresh ourselves in these basic principles. In between these two editions, Nick was inducted as minister to Milford and New Life Fellowship (Letterkenny), filling the vacancy left by my brother. We pray that Nick will quickly settle into his new charge and be blessed with fruit in the ministry there.
A highlight in Presbytery life was the induction of a new minister in Glasgow. We have taken the opportunity to interview Jonathan Baxter so that the wider denomination can get to know him. Just as our congregations prayed for Glasgow during its vacancy, I’m sure that we will remember the new minister in prayer.
