Having unanimously elected Mr Stephen McCollum and signed a Call to him last December, Stornoway RPCS are delighted that he has now accepted our Call at a Commission of Presbytery held in Glasgow on 26th January.
Mr McCollum is 27 years of age and comes from Cullybackey, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He studied Chemistry for three years at Glasgow University during which time he felt called to the ministry and so proceeded to the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. After completing three years theological study there, he graduated in 2014 with an M.Div. degree. On his return to Scotland he has fulfilled the role of Principal teacher in Sunrise Christian School, Glasgow for the past two and a half years. His wife Brenda is American, and they have just had their first child, Zoe. He comes from a family of ministers. His father, Rev Wallace McCollum, is a retired RP minister, and his brother, Rev Jonathan McCollum, is minister in Milford and Letterkenny RP Churches in Donegal, Ireland.
The ordination and induction will take place, Lord willing, on Friday the 28th April. We look forward to this new ministry and pray that the Lord’s blessing will rest upon it.
