Cloughmills GO Team

Eilidh Campbell from the Glasgow RP Church was recently on a GO Team to Cloughmills RP Church in Northern Ireland. GO Teams are short term mission teams of the Irish and Scottish RP Churches. We asked Eilidh a few questions about her experiences on the team, and this is what she had to say.

There were about 15 people who took part in the GO team with a good mix of ages (16-24). We were involved in a lot of things. From leafleting to Holiday Bible Club, to leading a youth club in the evenings, to organising a pensioners tea party, there was always something to keep you busy!

I think one of the main things I will take away from this team is to take every opportunity to speak to people about Jesus. Before the team I would shy away from taking to people about Christianity, but now after this week I see more deeply the importance of talking to people about salvation, even if it’s just food for thought.

I found the team very beneficial. We were always encouraged to ask questions and look out for one other. Another thing I loved about the GO Team was the chance to spend time with people of all ages from the wee children right through to the older people of the community. If you have a free week in the summer I would definitely recommend!!
