Living between D-Day and VE Day

Today marks 80 years since VE Day. There have been and will be street parties, proclamations, RAF flypasts and more. Eighty years have passed since the moment when, eight days after Adolf Hitler’s suicide, his successor authorised Germany’s surrender.
