Update From The Gambia

Church Services
We are currently in the rainy season here in Gambia. Despite that, we have been encouraged at the attendances at both services on the Lord’s Day. Our midweek prayer meeting continues to be well attended by students from our school here in Brikama. We have recently engaged in evangelism at Bafuloto village, which is around four miles north of Brikama. Despite the distance, we have had three people travelling from Bafuloto to worship with us on the Lord’s Day.

Life Impact School
The academic year has now finished and we are looking forward to the students returning for another year. The school owns land only a short distance from our Church building. We hope God willing, when the time is right, to be able to construct a permanent school building to serve the students and surrounding community for years to come. At the moment the school is renting land, which obviously doesn’t allow us long term stability. We are reminded that the Lord is able to provide funds as and when he sees fit as the cattle on a thousand hills are his (Psalm 50:10) and the silver and the gold (Haggai 2:8).

Pastors Fellowship
In our monthly Pastors Fellowship, we have been meeting to watch a series of lectures on Gospel Worship by Rev Romesh Prakashpalan. The last meeting saw us beginning the first of three lectures on Exclusive Psalmody, which has generated much discussion. Rev Prakashpalan has kindly agreed to respond by email to any questions raised at the fellowship, on the matter of Exclusive Psalmody. We were also grateful that the Lord has brought a new Pastor, from a Charismatic background, to begin attending our fellowship. We hope and pray that the Gambian Church will be encouraged to worship the Lord in spirit and truth (John 4:24).

Book
In July, we took receipt of 500 copies of my book, Journey from Charismatic to Reformed, published by Ettrick Press. These books were kindly purchased by someone in Scotland and shipped to Gambia to enable us to distribute copies to Pastors and others within the Gambian Church, with the hope of introducing them to the reformed faith.

Prayer Points
Pray that the Lord would bring reformation to the Gambian Church.
Pray that the school children would come to know and serve the Lord here in Gambia and further afield.
