Airdrie Mission Team

From mid-June to the beginning of July was a busy time for the Airdrie congregation as we had the American Mission Team, the Kids Club…

On Friday the 21st November, the Glasgow RP Church was full for the induction service of Rev. Jonathan Baxter. Besides the members of the Scottish Presbytery, there were people there from the congregation itself, the 4 other Scottish RP Churches, other local churches, and friends.

Rev. Stephen Steele, Moderator of Presbytery, preached on Ephesians 3, focusing on verses 20-21 and the theme of ‘God is able’ as he addressed both Rev. Baxter and the Glasgow congregation. Rev. Peter Loughridge, Clerk of Presbytery, then gave the narrative of events leading to this point. The vows for induction were then put to Rev. Baxter and upon his assent, he was inducted as the minister of Glasgow RPCS.

You can watch the service on youtube below – it begins about 35 minutes in.
After the service everyone made their way down to the Grosvenor Hotel where a buffet supper was provided. Speeches of thanks and presentations were made to Rev. Jonathan and Mrs Miriam Baxter, Rev. Donald Macdonald as Interim Moderator, those who filled the pulpit over the 3 plus year vacancy, those who showed hospitality to visiting ministers, among others. Letters of greetings were read out and other speeches were made before the evening closed with the singing of a Psalm and prayer. Please keep the Baxters in your prayers as they settle into the life and ministry in Glasgow.
